Mrs. Carol Sue Ammons, age 72, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Mrs. Ammons was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
Mrs. Ammons was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Ammons; her parents, Frank Vincent and Audrey Thompson Powell; a sister, Margaret Powell; a brother, Phillip Powell; and a daughter-in-law, Vickie Stevens Ammons. She is survived by six children, Robbie (Madonna) Ammons, Guston, KY, Lee Page Ammons (Chris) Stivers, Louisville, KY, Susan Celeste Ammons, Brandenburg, KY, Brian Ammons, Craig, CO, Tracy Lynette Ammons (Robby) Smallwood, Constantine, KY, and Chris Ammons, Flaherty, KY; 10 grandchildren, Nicki, Brad, Robert, David, Maggie, Audrey, Olivia, Chelsea, Emily and Garrett; 12 great grandchildren, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby Charlotte, that would have made it a baker’s dozen; four great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Tilford, Denzil and Frank Powell; and two sisters, Libby Powell Ammons, and Hazel Powell Hickerson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 17, 2017, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Garnettsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 11-8 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 8:30 AM until the time of mass on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the National Kidney Foundation.
A very special thank you to her beloved granddaughters, Audrey Meek and Olivia Adkisson and grandson Roscoe Meek. Your selfless devotion to your Nana will never be forgotten and is appreciated by her children more than you will ever know. We all love you from the bottom of our hearts!
