David Ray Hughes

Mr. David Ray Hughes, age 66, of Elizabethtown, KY, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at his residence.  Mr. Hughes was born June 4, 1951, the son of Henry Edward Hughes and Faye Bernice Tanner.  He was a member of Payneville Baptist Church; a member of IBEW Local 369; was retired from Philip Morris after 28 years of service; and was an employee of Kroger in Brandenburg for 7 years.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Cheryl Clemons.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Hale Hughes; two daughters, Jennie Rae (William Jason) Brown, Brandenburg, KY, Jessica Magdalyn (James Mitchell) Barr, Vine Grove, KY; three grandchildren, Alia Elizabeth Brown, henry David Brown, and John Mitchell Barr; two brothers, Terry Joe (Doris June) Hughes, Lawrenceburg, TN, and John Bruce (Connie) Hughes, Ypsilanti, MI.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Taylor officiating.  Burial will follow in Parr-Frans cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday.
