Gary Lee Dewitt, Sr.

Mr. Gary Lee Dewitt, Sr., age 72, of Battletown, KY, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at his residence.  Mr. Dewitt was born July 29, 1945, the son of William Elmer and Geneva Langley Dewitt.  He was a member of the International Chemical Workers’ Union, Local 663C; and he was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Mr. Dewitt was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Gary Dewitt, Jr.  He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl A. Dewitt; three children, Christopher (Linda Basham) Dewitt, Smith Grove, KY, Aaron Joseph (Gretchen) Dewitt, Battletown, KY, Willie Dewitt, KY; seven grandchildren, Susan, Jenny, Craig, Jacob, Simon, Steven, and Kayelee; and three great grandchildren, Preston, Leland and Jaxon.

Cremation was chosen by the family to honor Gary’s wishes.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Meade County Angel Tree Ministry.  Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg has been entrusted with arrangements.
