James Ralph Barr

Mr. James Ralph Barr, age 85, born in Rhodelia, KY, died peacefully in his sleep on December 2, 2017.   Ralph was a farmer and spent most of his life on his farm on Liberty Road in Battletown.

Mr. Barr was born on October 13, 1932 to the late George and Gertrude Hardesty Barr.  Ralph was always fond of his five siblings; Gerald Barr and Geraldine (Clevie) Sims.  He was preceded in death by three of them; Adolph (Betty Lou) Barr, Thelma (Gus) Flaherty and Norman (Adaline) Barr.  He is also survived by seven children, Lloyd (Paula) McCollum, Dennis (Laura) Barr, Kenneth (Virginia) Barr, Rick (Julia) Barr, Donna (Brian) Foushee, Kurt (Donna) Barr and Susan (Russ) Fackler.  Mr. Barr also left his mark on this earth with seventeen grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Chism, Nathan McCollum, Shawn Sizemore, Mandy Butler, Dylan English, Kayla English, Heath Bewley, Rachel Gagle, Pamela McFall, Rebekah Barr, Matthew Barr, Jeremy Foushee, Jordan Foushee, Christy Gossett, Alex Fackler, Ethan Fackler and Clay Fackler.  Ralph also leaves behind 14 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Catholic Church, with Rev. George Illakkal and Deacon Greg Beavin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 4-8 PM on Monday, and at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass on Tuesday.  Everyone is invited to the church hall afterwards for a meal with the family.
