Janet Joyce Dooley Troutman

Janet Joyce Dooley Troutman, 82, of Lake Charles, passed away on Sunday September 3, 2017 in Katy, Texas.

Janet was a native of Brandenburg, Kentucky and longtime resident of Lake Charles. She was a homemaker and a long-time active member of University United Methodist Church, where she contributed tirelessly to countless initiatives in support of the Church and people who were in need. She was a member of University United Methodist Women and the StoneRollers group.  For many years, Janet was a substitute teacher and she was also a dedicated, long-time hospital volunteer. 

Preceding Janet in death are her beloved husband of fifty-eight years, Allan Russell Troutman; her parents, William David and Emma Myrtle Bunger Dooley; and her six siblings.  She leaves her two sons and their families: Kevin and Debbie Troutman, Katy, Texas and their sons, Jacob Troutman, Lake Charles and Dean Chauffe, Salt Lake City; Gary and Vanessa Troutman of Orange, Texas and their children, Clint Troutman, Lake Charles and Megan Troutman, Orange, and their grandson, Benjamin Troutman, Orange; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, all of whom deeply honor and cherish her memory.

A Celebration of Janet’s life will be at 11:00 AM Monday September 11, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Trinkle officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Graveside burial services will be on Saturday September 16 at 11:00 AM at Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg, Kentucky under the direction of Hager Funeral Home of Brandenburg, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Janet’s memory to either the National Down Syndrome Society or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
