Your Mom and I were close friends our senior year at the Mount. We lost touch a few years after graduation. Recently I had been trying to get in touch. Tried leaving messages on Facebook for her and for Stephanie. Called her old cell number. Even called the real estate company she worked at years ago. No luck. This breaks my heart. My sympathy to her children and grandchildren.

I thought I'd share a story. Everyone will say how strong and independent Joyce was but that was just the outside. She was soft and caring on the inside. I've felt her love! I used to go on all Steves school clothes shopping sprees. Momma D would buy all the cool clothes for Steve or put them on lay-away for next month to make sure he looked great. She asked me on one of those trips what I wear? Being that I went to a private school we wore uniforms in blue and white. without hesitation she picked a shirt out for me. An expensive name brand blue and white stripped shirt. (On clearance, she liked deals). I've never heard or wore Gant before or since but I wore that shirt out. I just gave that shirt up a year or two ago. My wife hated it but I loved it for a special reason. We will always remember.

I attended Mount Saint Joseph with Joyce and she was always full of laughter and fun. Know she will be missed.
