Judith Jane Lawson

Ms. Judith Jane Lawson, age 71, of Corydon, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.  Judith was retired as a Registered Nurse; a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa; but most importantly was a loving mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother, and a very dear friend to many.

Ms. Lawson was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Elmer and Myrtie VanHuss Lawson; and a sister, Patricia Kay Hamblin.  She is survived by three children, Robert Garland (Michelle) DeWitt, Lavonia, IN, William Allen (Kimberly) DeWitt, Julia Kathleen (Cory) Fackler, both of Brandenburg, KY; seven grandchildren, Jason Cole DeWitt, Christopher Michael DeWitt, Taylor Leigh DeWitt, Tori Rae DeWitt, Trenton Allen DeWitt, Cory Austin Fackler and Hayley Ann Fackler; a great granddaughter, Madelyn DeWitt; and a brother, Robert Elmer Lawson, II, Texas.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday at the Old Paint Lick Cemetery in Paint Lick, KY.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM on Monday.  A traditional wake celebrating Judith’s life will be held at the funeral home from 2-8 PM on Wednesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to your local animal shelter.
