Melvin F. Lawson

Mr. Melvin F. Lawson, age 78, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at his residence.  Mr. Lawson was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.

Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his parents, David and Sarah Lawson; and five siblings, Dee, Richard, Albert and Donald Lawson and Gladys Whelan.  He is survived by his wife, Charlene Bradley Lawson; two children, Michael S. (Kim) Lawson, Cecelia, KY, Michelle Lawson Hardesty, Brandenburg, KY; his granddaughter, Emily Hardesty, Brandenburg, KY; his sister, Eliza Singleton, Battletown, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating.  Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. George Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 12:00 Noon-8 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Monday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Addison Jo Blair Fund, 167 Tattersaul Drive, Elizabethtown, KY  42701.
