Viola Luiza Hansen

Mrs. Viola Luiza Hansen, age 81, of Guston, KY, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at her residence.  Mrs. Hansen was a member of New Brandenburg Baptist Church.  She loved crocheting and doing crafts; she was a distinguished poet; and she loved playing piano and singing.

Mrs. Hansen was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Walter and Verna Rose Thomas Raymer; and her son, Terry P. Netherton.  She is survived by her husband, Donald J. Hansen, Guston, KY; four children, Linda Gail Hansen, Aaron W. Netherton, both of Guston, KY, Timothy B. Netherton, Jeffersonville, IN, Sharon E. Patterson, Eastview, KY; two step daughters, Lisa Norris, Gulf Shores, AL, Sabrina Bass, Foley, AL; a sister, Mary Ellen Trent; four brothers, Sam, Marion, Jim and Ken Raymer; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 7 step grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at New Brandenburg Baptist Church, with Rev. Tony Yates officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 11-8 PM on Thursday; and at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the charity of the donor’s choice, in memory of Viola.
