Mr. William F. “Bill” Sego, age 78, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018. Bill was currently serving as a chaplain and has been doing jail ministry for the past 17 years. He served as a police officer for both Jefferson County and Meade County Police Departments; was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Otter Creek Lodge #67; and was the former owner of Doe Valley Key Market.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Hurley Wendell and Bessie Kirby Sego; and a brother, Charles Ray Huff. He is survived by his wife, Patti Edelen Sego; seven children, Patrick (Julie) Sego, Portland, TN, Steve (Teri) Sego, Samantha (Kelly) Benham, both of Brandenburg, KY, Brandi Stanton, Flaherty, KY, Allison (Leland) Zickuhr, Germany, Les Gatrost, Lexington, KY, Joe Gatrost, Muldraugh, KY; 18 Grandchildren, Wynona, Pat, Michael, Amanda, and Brandon Sego, Brittany Kelly, Taylor and Tanner Benham, Andria Whitaker, Christopher, Hannah, Moriah, Madison, Mary, and Nate Gatrost, Grace Dowell, Nicky Cramer and Emily Zickuhr; and many great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Darrell Cox officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon-8:00 PM on Tuesday, and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday.
