Norman "Pete" Wright Obituary

Mr. Norman Ray “Pete” Wright, age 70, of Payneville, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Pete was a jack of all trades, but he thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Ruby Wright; a grandson, Jacob Shaw; two brothers, Donald and Tommy Wright; and two sisters, Mary Knott and Karen Stout. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Wright; two children, Wesley Wright and Melinda Basham, and her husband, Paul, Brandenburg, KY; two brothers, Joey Wright, and his wife, Betty, Brandenburg, KY, Eddie Wright, and his wife, Margaret, Louisville, KY; a sister, Linda Riddell, Guston, KY; 8 grandchildren, Nikki Morton, Beth Wright, and her fiancé, Jesse Moore, Jade Shaw, John “Dylan” Decker, Michael Decker, Kaitlyn Ramsey, and her husband, Zack, Cole and Kyle Wright, and Ashlynn Sandifer; three great grandchildren, Jakobi, Nicholas and Natalie Morton; several nieces and nephews; and his half pint caregiver, Tina Morgan.

Honoring Pete’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A celebration of Pete’s life will be held at the residence of his daughter Melinda, 185 Sipes Lane, Brandenburg, KY, beginning at 5:00 PM on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hager Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
