Charles "Bill" Clarkson Obituary

Mr. Charles William “Bill” Clarkson, age 87, of Flaherty, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2019. He was born June 25, 1931, the son of James Fielding, Sr. and Anna Louise Haag Clarkson. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, where he proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Big Spring United Methodist Church; of the Big Spring Masonic Lodge; and of the National Farmers Organization.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Clarkson; a son, Bob Clarkson; a grandson, Ernie Allen; and three brothers, Jim, Sid and Rod Clarkson. He is survived by 7 children, Gary Mitchell, and his wife, Helen, Brandenburg, KY, Joyce Ann Mitchell Allen, James Bruce Mitchell, Charles William “Chuck” Clarkson, Jr., all of Leitchfield, KY, Jeannie Clarkson Vowels, and her husband, Wally, Paul Michael “Mike” Clarkson, both of Flaherty, KY, and Lynn Louise Clarkson Miller, and her husband, Kenny, Rineyville, KY; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Family Cemetery in Big Spring, KY. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
