Mr. Golan Cole Brown, age 30, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Brandenburg, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. Golan’s number one priority was being an active and devoted father to his son, Gavin Brent. Golan was a man of many talents. He was a musician through and through. He was a singer/songwriter and played a variety of instruments, but always excelled with his guitar. He was an artist and owner of Golan Brown Photography. Golan truly had a heart of gold, always considering the needs of others before himself. He had a quick wit and never minded being the center of attention. Golan had an eclectic, serene spirit and could best be described as having an “Old Soul.”
Golan was preceded in death by his nephew, Robert “Robbie” Pryor, Jr.; his grandparents, Don and Dorothy Adkisson and Elizabeth Lucille Brown; and an uncle, George Brown. He is survived by his son, Gavin Brent Brown; his parents, Sonja “Sonnie” Whelan, and her husband, David, Flaherty, KY, Tony Brown, Brandenburg, KY; his sister, Tina Brown, Louisville, KY; his brother, Craig Brown, and his wife, Kelly, LaGrange, KY; his niece and nephew, Catheryn and Carter Brown; his paternal grandfather, James L. Brown, Brandenburg, KY; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 1, 2018, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Randy Gordon officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-8 PM on Thursday, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to a trust fund established for Golan’s son, Gavin Brent: Please make checks payable to Golan C.
