Mr. Harold David Carter, Sr., better known as “Diesel” or “Big D”, age 71, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Norton Audubon Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 30, 1947, the son of Edward Lewis and Lona Rea Raymer Carter. Diesel was the owner and founder of Diesel’s Wrecker Service and Diesel’s Paint and Body Shop.
Besides his parents, Diesel was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Terese Carter; and nine siblings, Jimmy, Glenn, Cora Rhea, Martha, Mick, Jessie, Butch, Peggy Ann and Joyce. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandy Carter; four children, Rhonda Snyder, and her husband, David, Leitchfield, KY, David “Little D” Carter, and his wife, Renee, Carol Mattingly, Cora Jeane Yates, and her husband, Tim, all of Brandenburg, KY; 7 grandchildren, Kelsey Tyree, and her husband, Joseph, Zack Yates, Tammy Carter, David “Bubby” Carter, Emma Mattingly, Anna Carter, David “Tank” Snyder; a great grandson, Carter Whelan; and three siblings, Noah Carter, Velma Dee Carter, and Loretta Logsdon.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Graves officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
