John Elroy Hetrick, Sr.

Mr. John Elroy Hetrick, Sr., age 57, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his residence. John was a member of the United States Army for twelve years as a unit supply sergeant and was present at the destruction of the Berlin Wall. John was a veteran of desert storm and the recipient of the national defense medal, the overseas service ribbon, and Expert Badge for the M-16 rifle. John was also a proud member of the V.F.W.
John was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Whitehead; and a brother-in-law, Leonard Strobbe. He is survived by his significant other, Jean LaBanca, Brandenburg, KY; four children, John Hetrick, Jr., Glen Hetrick, both of Brandenburg, KY, Samantha (Max) Stull, USAF, WV, Andrew Roney, Houston, TX; three brothers, Warren (Lou Ann) Hetrick, Clifford (Birdie) Hetrick, Jr., William (Mary) Hetrick; and six sisters, Phyllis (Al) Jaros, Carol (Jim) Lesk, Betty (Gary) Osborn, Judy Strobbe, Tracy (Mike) Drumm and Vickie Libby.
Graveside services will be held at a later date at Lakeview Cemetery in Kinross, MI. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hager Funeral Home to aid the family with expenses.
