John Walter "Johnnie" Sipes, Sr.

Mr. John Walter “Johnnie” Sipes, Sr., age 79, of Garrett, KY, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at University of Louisville Hospital. Johnnie was born March 21, 1939, the son of Richard Cash and Susan Mary “Sudie” Greenwell Sipes.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Allison Robertson; and four siblings, Margaret Pike, William T., Kelly, and Bobby Sipes. He is survived by three children, John Sipes, Jr., Harvest, AL, William Sipes and Heather Sipes, both of Madison, AL; six grandchildren, Danny and Trevor Newton, Will, Sarah, Joshua and Leaha Sipes; two great grandchildren, Xavier O’Leary and Harrison Newton; and two brothers, Eddie Sipes and Alan Sipes.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2018, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
