Joseph Francis Mills

Mr. Joseph Francis Mills, age 90, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. Joe honorably served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of Hillcrest Country Club; a proud Kentucky Colonel; and an avid University of Kentucky sports fan.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Andrew and Mildred Medley Mills; his daughter, Lori Mills; and his brother, Charles Mills; and his sister, Carolyn Petredis. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley Margaret Mills; a son, Brad Mills, and his wife, Lisa, Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Brooke, Ashleigh, Amanda and Nicholas; his great grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Darbie, Alexa, Casen, Leah and Harper; two brothers, Anthony Mills, Louisville, KY, David Mills, Naples, FL; and three sisters, Helen Evans, Middlesboro, KY, Marian Hanscam, Oregon, and Cathy Smith, and her husband, Bill, Brandenburg, KY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, and at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Tuesday.
