Joseph E. Ritchie

Mr. Joseph E. Ritchie, age 83, of Brandenburg, KY passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY.  Mr. Ritchie was retired supervisor from Louisville Gas & Electric Co. with 44 years service, and an avid hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. and Ada Ann Adams Ritchie; and five sisters, Ruby Robinson, Mildred Robinson, Hallie Penn, Irene Wilson and Leona Hobbs.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Smith Ritchie; five children, Leslie (Jimmy Higginbottom, Falls of Rough, KY, Rebecca (Roy) Cantrell, Elizabethtown, KY, Cindy (Phil) Welch, Louisville, KY, Barry (JoAnn) Ritchie, Brandenburg, KY and Glenn Ritchie, Central, IN; three step sons, Floyd L. (Marcie) Smith, Hardinsburg, KY, James R. (Katie) Smith, Camby, IN, and Ray E. (Debbie) Smith, Cloverport, KY; two sisters, Elizabeth McMillan, Louisville, KY and Ada Mitchell, Brandenburg, KY;    several grandchildren and  great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday from the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home with burial in Buck Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1 until 8 PM Sunday and after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.
