Joseph Stembridge Obituary

Mr. Joseph Kane Stembridge, age 76, of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, at his residence. Mr. Stembridge was a member of Lanier Christian Church and a former member of Weldon Christian Church in Brandenburg, KY. Joe was also a veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Stembridge was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank and Xavier Samantha Woods Russell; and three brothers, Roger Edward, Thomas Marion and Jerry Marvin Stembridge. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Russell Stembridge; two daughters, Jacquetta Arlene (Tommy) Payne, Dahlonega, GA, Regina Marie (Charlie) Williams, Norcross, GA; six grandchildren, Jacquetta Lynn (Michael) Peach, Ana Michelle (Justin) Dyer, Tommy Joseph (Judith) Payne, Brenda Cherie (Billy) Simmons, Cheyenne Marie Payne and Emily Grace Miller; five great grandchildren, Georgia Faye-Lynn Peach, Elizabeth Grace, Joseph Dakota Morgan, and NyKyrian Lee-Jessup Payne, and William Eli Simmons; a sister, Sarah Zink, Milledgeville, GA; two brothers, William Frank (Mary) Stembridge, Jr., Forrest Park, GA, John Lanier (Millie) Stembridge, Knoxville, TN; a sister-in-law, Diane Stembridge, Brentwood, TN; and a brother-in-law, Wayne (Judy) Russell, Brandenburg, KY.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Weldon Christian Church, with Rev. David Simpson and Rev. Gary True officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Sunday, and from 10:00 AM until 10:30 AM on Monday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Lanier Christian Church Building Fund in Gainesville, GA.
