Linda Smigiel Shireman Frans

Mrs. Linda Smigiel Shireman Frans, age 67, of Irvington, KY, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Norton Women’s and Children Hospital in Louisville, KY. Linda was a proud graduate of Valley High School Class of 1969. She loved history, loved to dance and take pictures, and was a huge Tom Cruise fan. Linda also served as Treasurer for the South Jefferson Youth League for many years.

Linda was preceded in death by her twin children, Michael and Michelle Shireman; father, Leonard Smigiel; her mother, Lois A. Whitworth; her step father, Harold F. Whitworth; her maternal grandparents, Sidney and Fannie D. Turner; her paternal grandparents, Michael and Cecilia Smigiel; her sister, Judith A. Hess; and her brother, Russell Williams, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Dale Frans; her son, Quinn Kent (Melissa) Shireman; her step daughter, Beth Miles; four grandchildren, Cameron Michelle Shireman, Quinn Michael Shireman, Kole Wayne Allen, Matthew Madden and Lane Miles; five brothers, Danny Jay (Terrie) Smigiel, Harold Rowdy (David A. Graham) Whitworth, Keith Whitworth, Doug Fitzner, and Eddie Smigiel; four nephews, Michael Smigiel, Michael and Austin Whitworth, Derrick Williams; three nieces, Christie Smigiel, Amy Hess Geary, Lindsey Ann Whitworth; and a great nephew, Simon Geary.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 3, 2018, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Sister Robin Brown officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1-8 PM on Saturday and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Sunday.
