Loyd Basham, Jr.

Mr. Loyd Basham, Jr. age 91, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Harrison Health Center in Corydon, IN. Mr. Basham was born February 9, 1927, the son of Loyd, Sr. and Kathleen Flood Basham. He was a very active member of the community, serving on the Fair Board, SS Board, Conservation and USDA Boards. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church; a Kentucky Colonel; and he was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Basham was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Bryan Basham. He is survived by his wife, Faye Hardesty Basham; five children, Larry (Elaine) Basham, Kevin (Robin) Basham, Dale Basham, Dana Medley and Erin Basham; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, and at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
