Mrs. Rose Anne (Grossman) Bowe, 72, of Benson, MN passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Swift County Benson Health Services. She was born on June 5, 1945, in Graceville, Minnesota to Michael Joseph and Agnes Elizabeth (Leuthard) Grossman.

Rose Anne was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Chokio, Minnesota. After graduating from Chokio High School in 1963, she joined the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. As a Franciscan, she worked in Sauk Centre and Breckenridge, Minnesota. She attended Wahpeton State School of Science for one year.

On June 23, 1969, Rose Anne moved to Washington, DC and worked for the Veterans Administration. Rose Anne married William “Bill” Douglas Bowe in Arlington, Virginia on November 26, 1971. Rose Anne and Bill were blessed with 39 years of marriage. Both of them worked and lived in Washington, DC and the surrounding area for ten years. In 1979, they moved to Augsburg, Germany, where Bill worked for four years. They moved to Vernon Hills, Illinois in 1983 and worked at Fort Sheridan. Rose Anne did secretarial work during their years in Illinois. In 1992, they moved to Doe Valley in Brandenburg, Kentucky. Bill worked at Fort Knox until his retirement in 1999. Rose Anne worked for Dr. Hans Cesarz at Brandenburg Chiropractic. During Bill’s illness from 2006 until his death, rose Anne was his caregiver. After Bill’s death, she worked at the Doe Valley Golf Club part-time.

Rose Anne moved to Benson in 2013 to be closer to her siblings and other family members. She enjoyed her life in Benson where she made new friends through church, golf, exercise classes and other groups. She also worked part-time at the Benson Golf Club for several years.

Rose Anne was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Bowe on April 4, 2011; her parents, Mike and Agnes Grossman; brothers, Gordon, Raymond, Jim, Oliver “Ollie”, and Leo Grossman; and sisters-in-law, Judy Grossman and Lee C. Barr. She is survived by her siblings, Sister Charlene Grossman, O.S.F., Clete Grossman, and Kate (Jay) Powell; sisters-in-law, Barb Grossman, Margaret Grossman, and Mary Ellen Grossman; godmother, Sister Agatha Grossman, C.S.J.; 25 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, January 22, 2018, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY, from 12:00 Noon until 4:00 PM on Sunday, January, 21, 2018.
