SGM (Ret) George Clarence Scott

SGM (Ret) George Clarence Scott, 75, of Ekron, KY passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his residence. He was retired from the United States Army having earned the Meritorious Service Medal and the Bronze Star among others, during his many years of service to his country. SGM Scott also worked several years at Dowell’s Hardware.

SGM Scott is survived by three children, George Leon (Janice) Scott, Vine Grove, KY, Maurice (Cindy) Scott, Ekron, KY and Annette (Jim) Maples, Smithville, MO; 10 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Sunday and after 9:00 AM Monday. A fellowship meal with the family will be held at the Meade County Senior Citizens Center immediately following the graveside service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
