Mrs. Virginia Milburn Claycomb, age 99, of Guston, KY, passed away peacefully in her home on March 22, 2018. She was born in Coles County, Illinois on May 6, 1918 to Fonzy and Pearl Davis Milburn. Soon after, the family relocated to Breckinridge County, Kentucky.

On November 29, 1934, Virginia married Richard Nelson Claycomb who preceded her in death in 2005.

She was a homemaker and a master cook. She was an avid reader who loved travelling with family and friends in motor homes.

Her true joy was spending time with her family. Each one benefited from her love and kindness as they were growing up.

She was a member of Guston Baptist Church where she held the honor of being the oldest member.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of seventy years and their son, Bobby Nelson Claycomb.

She leaves behind three daughters, Shirley Ann Thornhill, Harned, KY, Ruth Gail (Jimmy) Butler, Guston, KY, Shirley Gail Barger, Guston, KY and daughter-in-law, Betty Claycomb, Irvington, KY; eight grandchildren, Gary Nelson Barger, Brian Butler, Richard Butler, Bobby Claycomb, Jr., Pamela Ellis, Laura Rhodes, Ken Thornhill and Stephen Thornhill; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren also survive.

Many were blessed to learn valuable lessons from “Mom” during her 99 years. She was very loved and will be greatly missed.
