Anna Catherine (Barr) Knott

Mrs. Anna Catherine Barr Knott, age 96, of Payneville, KY, passed away on December 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born May 17, 1924, the daughter of George Henry, Sr., and Mayme Catherine Kerrick Barr.  Mrs. Knott was a homemaker and wonderful cook who enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening in her younger days.  She was also a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Rhodelia.  Her greatest passion, however, was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Mrs. Knott spent the last two years of her life at the Beehive Assisted Living Facility in Brandenburg.  When family members were unable to be with her due to Covid restrictions, she was very blessed to receive a daily dose of love and hugs from the caring staff.

Mrs. Knott was preceded in death by her husband, J. Robert (Bob) Knott, an infant daughter, Mary Alice, and all nine of her siblings, Tom Barr, Edwin Barr, Lucille Stith, Bernadine Adkisson, Anita Bruner, George Henry (GH) Barr, Jr., Martha Nell Elder, Barbara Zeitz, and John Barr.  She is survived by six children, Linda Mattingly and her husband, Randall, Bill Knott and his wife, Brenda, Mike Knott, Charlotte Schmidt, Rita Hardesty and her husband, Jeff, and Patty Stull and her husband, Mark; 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Knott officiating.  The mass will also be streamed online to the Hager Funeral Home Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the chapel of Hager Funeral Home from 3:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass on Tuesday at the church.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church or to Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
