Bernard Ray Downs

     Mr. Bernard Ray Downs, age 88, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Harrison Health in Corydon, IN.  Mr. Downs was born January 1, 1935, the son of John Raphael and Jessie Mae (Baldwin) Downs.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he proudly served his country in Korea.

     Mr. Downs was preceded in death by his parents; his Loving wife, Rose C. Downs; and his daughter, Lynn Downs.  He is survived by seven children, Raymond (April) Downs, Peggy Young, Laurie Hall, John Downs, Tammy McCoy, Ronald Moock and John Moock; five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Cindy) Young, Donella Young, Seth (Elizabeth) Downs, Cody, (Leshayne) Downs, and Faith Downs; and six great grandchildren, Carly Young, Landen, Jake, Javery, Riverlynn and Xavier Downs.

     Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home.  Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central at 1:30 PM.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Feed the Children.
