Mrs. Bernice Fay McDaniel, age 91, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. Bernice was born on August 17, 1934, the daughter of Charlie and Pearl (Childers) Shepard. She enjoyed bowling.  Bernice had a kind, caring, and loving heart and she always took care of everyone around her.  She was radiantly beautiful inside and out.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald McDaniel; her son, Michael McDaniel; and eight siblings, Carl Shepard, Preston Shepard, Charlie Shepard, Jr., Hillary Shepard, Lois Carter, Nyla Emory, Daisy Hardin and Gladys Cardwell.

She is survived by three children, Donna F. (John) Rowan, Barbara Gale (Russell) Banks and Robert Steven (Lou Ann) McDaniel; seven grandchildren, Todd Kleinhelter, Michelle Klein, Samantha Basham, Nicci Gillentine, Mike McDaniel, Patricia Durbin and C.J. McDaniel; eight great grandchildren, Chloe McDaniel, Aly, Payton, Patrick, and Molly Durbin, Emily McDaniel, Mattison Gillentine and Cameron Tyler Basham; and one great-great granddaughter, Deliahla Mattingly.

In honoring Bernice’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. A memorial visitation will be held at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
