Betty Jean Miller Sipes

Mrs. Betty Jean Miller Sipes, 88, of Ekron, KY passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY. Betty was a member of Ekron Baptist Church for over 50 years, managing the kitchen and being caretaker of the cemetery among many other things. She also worked as a designer for Pat’s Florist and Midway Florist. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Rose Miller; her husband, Bill Sipes; her sister, Marilyn Wimp; and a granddaughter, Jenny Rose Sipes.

Mrs. Sipes is survived by two step-children, Delores Marie Hamill, Brandenburg, KY and Norman Louis Sipes, Guston, KY; five children, Patrick Jay Sipes, Cincinnati, OH, James Lamoyne Sipes, Smyrna, GA, LuAnne Sipes Littlefield, Danville, KY, Lorraine Sipes White and Karen Lynn Sipes Collins, Knoxville, TN; a special nephew and his wife, Michael Allen and Diana Ratcliffe, Brandenburg, KY; 19 Grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday at Ekron Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Bridge and Rev. Wes Pinkley officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 until 6 PM Saturday at Hager Funeral Home.
