Betty A. (Dowell) Prather

     Mrs. Betty A. Prather, age 68, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown.  Betty enjoyed surfing the internet on her computer daily.  She loved to keep up with everyone and what was going on around her.  She was a wonderful wife and loving daughter, mother and grandmother.  Her family, and spending time with them, meant everything to her.

    Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Frances Dowell; and her sister, Martha “Janie” McAfee.  She is survived by her loving husband, Harry T. Prather; two sons, Sam Prather, Tom Prather and his wife, Annie; six grandchildren, Natalie, Devin, Dalton, Regan, Kennedy and Lincoln Prather; her father, R.B. “Junior” Dowell; two sisters, Dorothy Ray and her husband, Elroy and Mary Ledford; and her brother, Richard “Richie” Dowell and his wife, Sandy.

    A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Terry Carby officiating.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM on Thursday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
