Champ Jeffrey Myers Obituary

Our baby boy, Champ Jeffrey Myers, was born Tuesday, May 30th at 4:56 pm. He was given the fitting name after living his short destiny. He passed at 6:52 pm in the arms of his proud father.

Champ defied many odds. The doctors said the possibilities for his life were limited from the start, and despite the uncertainties, he held a strong heartbeat week after week. Champ was born at only 28 weeks, weighing 2lbs. 8oz., and put up a brave fight at the University of Louisville NICU.

Champ was surrounded by love and admired by all. We spent hours holding him, kissing his cheeks, and memorizing every detail of his precious body. We particularly loved his little nose and chin, his dark wavy hair, and his big hands and long fingers, closely resembling us and his siblings.

Champ's life quickly brought purpose and meaning to ours. We have never felt closer to God and are amazed how His faithful hand was on every moment. We believe Champ's story will be known by others for many years to come, and we also believe he will be known to us by sight and soul when we reunite in heaven.

He is loved and missed by his parents, Kurt and Erica Myers; his siblings Colt, Boone and Rosie; his grandparents Joe and Kim Myers, and Mark and Gayla Redmon; his aunts and uncles Laura Myers, Bradley and Melanie Knott, Travis and Nicky Wootton,  and Ryan and Jessie Redmon; and cousins Ty, Taylor, Taryne, Tate, Cooper, Oakes, and Elsie.

An intimate gathering with family and friends will be held at St. George Cemetery in Brandenburg on Tuesday, June 6th at 10:00am for our angel son, our little Champion, who will always be remembered as a precious gift.

Forever in our hearts, Kurt & Erica Myers
