Mr. Claude Aloysius Mattingly, age 65, of Battletown, KY, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at his daughter’s residence. Claude’s greatest joy was spending time with his family and cooking for them on the grill.
Claude was preceded in death by his son, Corey Mattingly; his father, Francis Mattingly; his grandson, Brycen Howard; and his great grandson, Jaden Naputi. He is survived by seven children, Brandy Henderson and her husband, Dave, Chris Mattingly and his wife, April, Laura Mattingly, Stephanie Wardrip and her husband, John, Stacie Mattingly, Jennifer Howard and her husband, Steven, Amy Allen and her husband, Marcus; his mother, Martha Mattingly; two brothers, Frankie Mattingly and Philip Mattingly; three sisters, Mary Lou Thomas, Elaine Dowell and Becky Reichmuth; and 26 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Catholic Church, with Father George Illakkal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, and at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Wednesday. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 PM on Tuesday evening, led by Deacon Greg Beavin. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
