Mr. Clyde W. Miller, age 92, of Midway, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. Clyde was born on September 6, 1931, in Scammon, KS the son of Harry L. and Pearl M. (Steele) Miller. He was a graduate of Columbus Kansas High School. He worked in construction as a carpenter, foreman and as a general foreman. Clyde proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954. He then married the love of his life, Lucille L. Theolet, on December 24, 1956. He and Lucille moved to Brandenburg in 1958, where they spent many years working in construction at The Olin Plant. They later built their home in Midway in 1963. Clyde retired from Coupe Construction Company, of Louisville, KY, after 25 years of service as a construction supervisor. During his retirement, he spent many hours working in his yard, enjoyed gardening with his wife, Lucille, and loved to make furniture and toys in his workshop. He was an avid Louisville Cardinal basketball and football fan. He attended all the Louisville home football games and loved to tailgate with his daughter, son-in-law, grandkids and many friends beforehand. Clyde was a member of The American Legion Hardin Post 113 in Elizabethtown, KY.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille L. Miller; his son, Mark Miller, of Malborough, MA; his daughter, Robinn Barmore, of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
In honoring Clyde’s wishes, cremation was chosen by the family. Interment, with military honors, will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY at a later date.
