Mr. David L. Johnson, age 71, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2021, with love and dignity, at his home surrounded by family and wrapped in the arms of God. David served his country in Vietnam as a soldier in the United States Army. He then went on to retire from General Electric. After retirement, David drove school buses for Meade County and Fort Knox.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Richard M., Sr. and Mary E. Johnson; and his brothers, Infant Roger and Bill Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Carla Mitchell Johnson; five children, Ashlee Johnson, Elizabeth (Nick) Johnson, Amy (Shane) Coffey, CSM Michael (Leslie) Coffey, and Donny Curtsinger; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandbaby; and his siblings, Rick (Ann) Johnson, Larry (Jake) Johnson, Lois Pierce, Pat McPherson and Roni Johnson; as well as, a very large extended family and wonderful friends.
David’s greatest enjoyments were family time and camping. He will be forever missed, but we take comfort in knowing he is free of pain and illness. We loved him, but He loved us most!
Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 18, 2021, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. The procession to the cemetery will be leaving Hager Funeral Home at approximately 12:55 PM on Friday. Those wishing to participate in the procession should arrive at the funeral home at 12:45 PM.
