Donald Eugene "Donnie" DeJarnette

Mr. Donald Eugene “Donnie” DeJarnette, age 25, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.  Donnie was employed at Tony Brown Chevrolet in Brandenburg, where his co-workers truly became more like family than co-workers.  Donnie loved being outdoors.   He especially liked fishing, riding dirt bikes and target shooting.  He enjoyed hanging out with all his friends, but especially his 3 special friends, Tyler, Tanner and Jeremy.  His priority in life was his family and his newborn daughter.

   Donnie was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ronald DeJarnette; his maternal grandparents, Harold and Glenda Scott; and his brother, Billy Kern, Jr.  He is survived by his daughter, Morgan DeJarnette; his mother and step-father, Janette Kern and Billy Waters; his father, Gene DeJarnette; his fiance, Larissa Denton; his grandmother, Mary “Nanny” DeJarnette; his brother, Matthew Kern; his sister, Mary Jane DeJarnette; his nephew, Grayson; his two nieces, Elaina and Kimberly; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

   Funeral Services will be privately held for Donnie’s immediate family only, due to the current COVID-19 mandates in place.  The service will be streamed online to the Hager Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021.  Public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 10, 2021, from 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and on Monday, January 11, 2021, from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Cale Brown Scholarship Fund supporting outdoor activities, C/O Tony or Amanda Brown, 635 River Ridge Road, Brandenburg, KY  40108.
