Edith Mae (Alston) Benham

     Mrs. Edith Mae Benham, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, IN.  Mrs. Benham was born October 28, 1934, the daughter of Hobbie and Susie (Royer) Alston.

     Mrs. Benham was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nevitt Benham; her son, John Matt Benham; two brothers, Lennie Ray Alston and John Alston; and her sister, Vinnie Jean Novak.  She is survived by three children, Bonita Mae (Deacon) Tyler, Louisville, KY, LaRoy (Diane) Benham, and Joe Benham, both of Brandenburg, KY; five grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew and Emily Benham, Sarah Tyler and Nicole Benham; four great grandchildren, Chesney, Devin, Dani Jean and Isaac Benham; her great-great grandson, Kingston LaRoy; her sister, Ruby Pearl Bingham, Longville, LA; her brother, Leonard McCoy Alston, Longville, LA; and her precious Shih tzu, Laverne.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary True officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Methodist Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Monday.
