Ernie Lee Embry

     Mr. Ernie Lee Embry, age 67, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away peacefully on his birthday, May 6, 2021, at the Norton Medical Pavilion in Louisville, KY.  Ernie was a retired Engineer of CSX Railroad and former owner of Embry’s Body Shop.  He was a longtime servant for his community as a Deputy Sheriff and the first Chief of the Ekron Fire Department.  Ernie was also a longtime member of Ekron Baptist Church.

     Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. and Beulah G. (Mays) Embry; and his sister, Dixie Miller.  He is survived by his loving wife, Susie Embry; his daughter, Melissa McRae and her husband, Paul; his son, Michael Embry and his wife Rae-Anne; two grandchildren, Hannah and Evan; and several nieces and nephews.

      Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at Ekron Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Curry officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, and from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Tuesday.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Ekron Baptist Church in memory of Ernie.
