Georgia Rose Franke

Mrs. Georgia Rose Franke, age 97, of Brandenburg, KY passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at All About Home in Brandenburg. Mrs. Franke was a member of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church; Vine Grove Chapter 122, Order of the Eastern Star (Formerly J.R. Dink Chapter); was the Meade County Representative for the American Heart Association; and wrote the column “Georgia’s Ginger Jar” for the Meade County Messenger for many years.

Mrs. Franke was preceded in death by her parents, Oren and Eva Haynes; her husband; Charles B. Franke; and a brother, Joseph Haynes. She is survived by two sons, Barry Franke and his wife Lisa, Ekron, KY and Eddie Franke and his wife, Loretta, Elizabethtown, KY; four grandsons, Brice Franke and his wife, Alex, Ekron, KY, Quintin Franke and his wife Hayley, Guston, KY, Joe Franke, Custer, KY and Jake Franke, Guston, KY; and six great grandchildren, Carson, Ashlyn, Axton, Peyton, Hunter and Millie.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at the Brandenburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Haynes Cemetery, Battletown, KY.

Visitation will be at Hager Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday and at the church from 2:00 PM until the time of service on Sunday. Eastern Star services will be held at 6:00 PM Saturday evening at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Brandenburg United Methodist Church or Ekron Baptist Church.
