James Raymer, Sr. Obituary

Mr. James Alfred Raymer, Sr., age 73, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Robley Rex Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville, KY.  Mr. Raymer was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elizabethtown Post.

   Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Marion and Verna Rose (Thomas) Raymer; his sister, Viola Hansen; and his brother, Samuel Raymer.  He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Stephanie Rene Raymer; his daughter, Tabitha Raymer Greenwell and her husband , Dale; his son, Jess Raymer; three grandchildren, Raelyn and Ronnie Greenwell, and Chelsea Wilson; two brothers, Marion Walter Raymer and Kenneth Raymer; his sister, Mary Ellen Trent; and his best friend from his Navy days, Terry Appell.

  Funeral Services, with military honors, will be held privately for Jim’s family at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2020, due to capacity restrictions.  The service will be streamed online to Hager Funeral Home’s Facebook page.  A public visitation, which everyone is welcome to attend, will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, and from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, at the chapel of the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project online at https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/Donate.  Online condolences may be left at www.hagerfuneralhome.com.
