Mr. James Alfred Raymer, Sr., age 73, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at the Robley Rex Veterans Administration Medical Center in Louisville, KY. Mr. Raymer was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elizabethtown Post.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Marion and Verna Rose (Thomas) Raymer; his sister, Viola Hansen; and his brother, Samuel Raymer. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Stephanie Rene Raymer; his daughter, Tabitha Raymer Greenwell and her husband , Dale; his son, Jess Raymer; three grandchildren, Raelyn and Ronnie Greenwell, and Chelsea Wilson; two brothers, Marion Walter Raymer and Kenneth Raymer; his sister, Mary Ellen Trent; and his best friend from his Navy days, Terry Appell.
Funeral Services, with military honors, will be held privately for Jim’s family at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 13, 2020, due to capacity restrictions. The service will be streamed online to Hager Funeral Home’s Facebook page. A public visitation, which everyone is welcome to attend, will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, and from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Saturday, at the chapel of the funeral home.
