Mr. James F. Stiff, age 92, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at All About Homes Assisted Living, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 21, 1930, the son of James Estel and Mary Engelbert (Hardesty) Stiff. Mr. Stiff was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Olin Chemical after 32 years of service and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 502. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed playing Rook, farming and woodworking.
Mr. Stiff was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 66 years, Rebecca Stiff; his son, Thomas Ray Stiff; his granddaughter, Angela Marie Holtsclaw; two infant brothers; and his sister, Estella Mattingly. He is survived by four children, Debbie Stiff, Doug Stiff and his wife, Karen, both of Brandenburg, KY, Chris Stiff and his wife, Gina, Kissimmee, FL, and Carol Hubbard and her husband, David, Mt. Pleasant, SC; 10 grandchildren, Kellee Duke, Jeremy Pollock, John Bruscato, Kasey Reed, Kristin Milner, Jason Stiff, Michelle Biddle, Terri Hubbard, Brad Hubbard and James Hubbard; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Father Toan Do officiating. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, and at the church narthex from 8:00 AM until the time of mass on Saturday. Vigil services will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the St. George Cemetery Fund.
