Jessica Magdalyn (Hughes) Barr

     Mrs. Jessica Magdalyn Barr, age 36, of Elizabethtown, KY, formerly of Little Bend, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Norton Hospital Downtown in Louisville, KY.  Jessica was born February 19, 1987, the daughter of David Ray and Sharon Lisabeth (Hale) Hughes.  She was a 2005 graduate of Meade County High School and earned the honor of class Valedictorian.  She was also a longtime employee of Norton Healthcare as a construction project manager.  Jessica was a very private person who enjoyed reading, but mostly just enjoyed spending time with her family.

     Jessica was preceded in death by her father, David; her grandparents, George “Pa” and Maggie “Granny” Hale; her great aunt, Linda Bunch; and her special friend, John Willett.  She is survived by her loving husband, Mitchell Barr; her son, John Barr; her mom, Sharon Hughes; her sister, Jennie Brown and her husband, Jason; her niece, Alia “Munch” Brown; her nephew, Henry Brown; her uncles, George Hale, Terry Hughes and his wife, Doris, and John Hughes and his wife, Connie; and her best friend of 35 years, Grace Bennett Tester.

      Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Parr-Frans Cemetery in Battletown.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until 8:00 PM on Monday, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Tuesday.
