John Alexander Browne, born October 15, 1938 in Yonkers New York, died with family at his side at Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on January 24, 2021 at the age of 82. John was preceded in death by his parents John and Juliana Browne, his wife Jayne Browne and his mother-in-law Dorothy Parker. He is survived by his daughter and caregiver Terri Stowers, Brandenburg, KY; daughter Debby (Roger) Suiter, Louisiana; daughter Wendy (Ernest) Browne-Jones, Fortson, GA; son David (Nadia) Browne, Elizabethtown, KY; son Michael Browne, Cave City, KY; daughter Debra Browne, Elizabethtown, KY. John has 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
John was a member of the Meade County Citizens on Patrol program devoting many volunteer hours for several years. He was a lifelong member of the Elizabethtown American Legion Unit 0113. He loved to go fishing and have fishing competitions with his family.
In honoring John’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. In the spring John’s ashes will be buried with his wife’s and their beloved dog Missy’s ashes at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flint, MI, per his wishes. Hager Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
