John Francis Masterson

Mr. John Francis Masterson, age 56, of Flaherty, KY, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020 in Colorado.  John loved being a prospector and was always searching for that lucky plot of gold.

    John was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Leo Masterson; his mother, Martha Elizabeth Whelan Bassett; his step-father, William L. “Bill” Bassett; his brother, James Gregory Masterson; and his sister, Margaret Joann Powell.  He is survived by his longtime companion, Laurie Ashley; two children, Brett Zelenka and his wife, Jane, and Ashley Masterson; two step children, Amanda Watts and her husband, Nicholas, and Danielle Bradley; six grandchildren, Gabriella and Malia Zelenka, Rylan and Tenley Ellis, and Olivia and Hannah Watts; six sisters, Mary Lillian Hay, Rose Heard, Marty Speaks, Geraldine Shanahan, Patty Taylor and Jeannie Allen; five brothers, Joseph Hager, Bert Hager, George Leo Masterson, Bat Masterson and Eddie Masterson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be held privately for John’s immediate family, due to capacity restrictions at this time.  The service will be streamed online to the Hager Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020.  A public visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 5:45 PM on Monday, July 6.
