Mr. Joseph Maurice Crews, age 96, of Louisville, KY, formerly of Irvington, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at Baptist Health. Mr. Crews had a gentle and humble soul and always made his family his top priority. He was a long-time member of Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church. He cherished his Catholic faith and took great pride in opening the church and preparing the altar for Mass every Saturday night for a number of years. He was also a member of Hillcrest Country Club for many years, where he enjoyed golfing almost daily with the many friends he made there.
Mr. Crews was preceded in death by his son, Roger N. Crews. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Catherine Crews; a daughter, Susan Crews; four grandchildren, Kyle Crews, Will and Dominic Elpers, Jody Kelty; and his daughter-in-law, Ann Elpers.
Funeral Services will be held privately for Mr. Crews’ immediate family due to health concerns from COVID-19. The service will be streamed online to the Hager Funeral Home Facebook page at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2020. Burial will take place in Mount Merino cemetery in Irvington, KY.
