Mrs. Georgia Katharyn “Kay” McGehee, age 88, of Brandenburg, KY passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the Norton Medical Pavilion in Louisville, KY. Mrs. McGehee was the former publisher and bookkeeper for the Meade County Messenger.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, George Pressley and Mildred Griffee Benham; her husband, Maury McGehee; and three brothers, Thomas Franklin, Roy Dean, and Stuart Pressley Benham. Mrs. McGehee is survived by her step daughter, Sue Virginia (McGehee) Gilvin, Brandenburg, KY; two sisters, Mary Evelyn Thornhill and Rose Welch, Brandenburg, KY; a brother, Kenneth Benham, Covington, VA; and many nieces and nephews.

In honoring Kay’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation. No public services will be held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hager Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society online at https://donate3.cancer.org.
