Mr. Louis Carl Stowers, age 89 of Brandenburg, KY, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the Norton Medical Pavilion in Louisville, KY. He was born October 7, 1930, the son of Chester Lee and Hazel Stowers. Mr. Stowers proudly served his country in the United States Army in photographic intelligence during the Korean Conflict and later retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. Louis was a long time general contractor, and, built many of the homes in Doe Valley Estates and in Meade and surrounding counties.
Mr. Stowers was preceded in death last year by his loving wife of 67 years, Marylin Brumleve Stowers; and his parents. He is survived by four children, Terrance Louis Stowers, and his wife, Marylynn, Carol Stowers Quan, and her husband, Dr. Harold E., Glenn Lee Stowers and Robert Louis Stowers and his significant, Barbara Riggle Baker; 20 grandchildren, Victoria Jia, Virginia Fredrick, Jessica and Scott Stowers, Nancy Flores, Sue Ellen, H. Robert and Allison Quan, Jessi, Blake and Bradly Smith, Amanda, Shad, Adam and Richard Sean Williams, Joseph and Bradley Burden, Dawn Riggle, Maranda Hunter and Garrick Hunter; and many great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 Pm Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home in Brandenburg, KY, from 10:00 AM until 12:15 PM.
