Mrs. Lucye Tate-Stupak, age 76, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 1, 1943, the daughter of Joseph R. and Lillis Cecelia Henning Wethington. Lucye loved many things including cooking, gardening, and quilting. Her greatest love, however, and number one priority was always her grandchildren. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and a lifetime member of the American Legion.
Lucye was preceded in death by her son, Thurman A. Tate. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Andrew Stupak; two sons, Ed Tate, and his wife, Nancy and Thomas Tate, and his wife, Crystal; six grandchildren, Dillon Tate, Lacee Jo Tate Hardy, and her husband, Devin, Cody Tate, and his fiancé, Hanna Rister, Collin Tate, Ransom Tate and Lilly Shea Tate; four great grandchildren, Cambell, Claire and Drake Hardy, and Baby Tate on the way; six sisters, Ann Craig, Pauline Thorn, Helen Merrick, Alice Popham, Janice McGraw and Cathy Franck; and five brothers, Raymond, Gerald, John, Donny and Larry Wethington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Kevin Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and at the church from 8:00 AM until the time of mass on Wednesday. Vigil services will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 11:00 AM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
