Mary (Sipes) Embrey

Mrs. Mary Frances Sipes Embrey, age 70, of Claremont, NC passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory, NC.  She was born February 10, 1952, the daughter of Robert Johnson and Izola Mae (Curl) Sipes.

Mrs. Embrey was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Russell and Bobby Sipes; and a sister-in-law, Joyce Sipes.  She is survived by two children, Kelly Embrey and his wife Cynthia, Catawba, NC and Kimberly Wells and her husband Stewart III, Dundalk, MD; two brothers, Chester Sipes and his wife, Judy, and James Sipes, Brandenburg, KY; three grandchildren, Monica Sanchez, Hope Palumbo-Griser and Petty Officer 2nd Class Stewart Wells, IV; and three great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Sofia and Benjamin.      

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 25, 2022, in the Chapel of the Hager Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday.
