Mary Jean (Craycroft) McGehee Wethington

Mrs. Mary Jean (Craycroft) McGehee Wethington, age 81, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022.  She was born, Mary Jean Craycroft, the daughter of Joseph Maurice “Didler” and Mary Jane (Mills) Craycroft of Vine Grove, KY.  Jean worked at Meade County Nurseries for 20 years.  She loved working in her flower beds and was an avid bowler, quilter and crafter.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her late husband, Tom McGehee; her step-son, James Wethington; her sister, Ann Lambert; and her brother, Joe Craycroft.  She is survived by her husband, Jay Wethington; her daughter, Donna (Kurt) Barr; her son, Larry McGehee; her step-daughter, Rhonda (Todd) Carter; her sister, Rose (John) Meister; her brother, Jerry Craycroft; four grandchildren, Christy Gossett, Christopher Carter, Nicholas Carter, and Katie Carter; and three great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, from St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, with Rev. Toan Do officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Martin Cemetery in Flaherty, KY.  Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday and at St. John the Apostle from 9:00 AM until the time of mass on Tuesday. A vigil service will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday from the chapel of the funeral home.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
