Mr. Michael Sean Martin, age 57, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Norton Audubon Hospital.  Sean was born in Louisville on September 4, 1965.  He was a 1983 graduate of Meade County High School where he was very active in both football, in which he was awarded the 110% award, and baseball, in which he earned the M.I.P. award.  Sean went on to attend Bellarmine University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1987, and then the University of Louisville, where he received his master’s Degree in 1997.

In 1993, Sean joined Brown Forman Corporation, where he became Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for their Asia/Pacific market and he was a key player in China, Thailand, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.  While there he also worked and traveled throughout Europe and became very active in the community, coaching Little League Baseball and serving on the
Hong Kong Board of Directors.  After moving back to the states, Sean held other CFO positions, including Driscoll Strawberries in California from 2008 until 2014.  He joined the Peace Corps in 2018 and traveled to Namibia, Africa.  Sean also had many hobbies that included playing golf, traveling, hiking, and he was a University of Louisville Football fan.

Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Justina (Thompson) Martin.  He is survived by his wife, Julie Anderson Martin; three children, John Garrett Martin and his wife, Dare, Logan Mackenzie Martin, and Taylor Jane Martin; three bonus children, Levi McIntosh and his wife, Emily, Ben McIntosh, and his son, Griffin, Ashley Cannady and her husband, J.L., and their children, Andi Kate and Chip; his father, Hugh L. Martin; his sister, Tracy R. Martin Hall; his niece, Lauren Hall; two nephews, Micah and Luke Hall; his favorite dog, Nala; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the chapel of the Hager Funeral Home, with Rev. Ron Beaton officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
