Mrs. Michelle Denise Ray, age 56, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY. Michelle was a 1981 graduate of Meade County High School. She served as a business manager for several local businesses and formerly owned Pat’s Florist. Michelle loved to cook and enjoyed large family gatherings. She was always active in her church and was formerly an active booster for the MCHS football team. Her greatest gift was her generous and giving spirit and being a loving wife, mother and nana for her family.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Edward Carter; and her mother-in-law, Rita Ray. She is survived by her husband, Joseph D. “Buddy” Ray; two sons, Brandon Matthew Ray and Christopher Levi Ray; two granddaughters, Paris and Abby Ray; her mother, Carol Fay Carter; two sisters, Gwendolyn Carter and her husband, Dean, Lisa Efird; her nephew, Jordan Carter; three nieces, Tasha Holbrook and her husband, Stephen, Jamie Thompson and her husband, Aaron and Alex Efird; and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews on her husband’s side.
Funeral Services will be privately held for Michelle’s immediate family due to capacity restrictions at this time. A public visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home on Friday, August 7, 2020, from 3:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will take place in St. Theresa Cemetery at approximately 12:30 PM on Saturday.
